Inside Out

There's an art installation at Wave Hill where the walls are covered with images of a forest with real branches poking out of them. Its the window however that had me connecting this image to this moment in New York City where the temperatures are just about ok still to have your windows open. After an eternity of closed winter windows and for only a brief few weeks before they are shut again to keep the cool air conditioning in- we enjoy the pleasures of having the air and sunlight enter our private spaces without any boundaries. A pleasure that bears the price of being able to listen to every ambient sound out there. At certain times of the day however when its quiet, this season of open windows when inside and outside comingle, is another of summer's great pleasures.
