A Requiem for Winter

I filmed the clips for this on the vernal equinox- the first day of spring. It was around the edge of Mamaroneck harbor. Given that the subject is dried dead grasses, shrivelled leaves and the dry skeletons of last summer its fitting that it be a requiem for winter. The water seems symbolic of the life force of spring, regenerating and rehydrating a parched landscape full of dry dead stalks which we now bid a firm farwell.
